Sanders Jones Quick Start Plan
If you are happy with your key business processes then the QuickStart Plan is the one for you. Fast and efficient, but still recognising the importance of parallel running and on-site support, this methodology will deliver on-time, to specification, and within budget. QuickStart differs from the more comprehensive Ten Step approach in that the key business processes are not reviewed or altered, and project management is minimal.
The key components are:
  • Project Initiation and Launch
  • Prototyping
  • User Training
  • Go-Live Planning
  • On-Site Support During The G-Live Phase
Step 1
Project Initiation Meeting - assess rescources, define roles, identify go-live date. Project Launch Meeting - present Project Plan, agree dates, gain customer acceptance of Project Plan.
Step 2
Technical Environment - build network, servers, desktops and communications to the desired specification. Software Delivery - isntall SQL Server and Application Software. Includes Technical Training (system admin, data backups etc.)
Step 3
Transfer routines for electronic data transfer. Create Training Database and populate with customer data. Create Test Databases. Configure Application Software in accordance with Key Business Processes.
Step 4
Specific documents for End User Training sessions using notes from Step 3.
Step 5
Train users to a level where they are ready to operate the system confidently.
Step 6
User testing and fine tuning prior to live running. Transfer live data. Parallel running on both old and new systems for "standing data".
Step 7
On-site handholding support.
Step 8
Forum for assessing any feedback and suggestions made regarding the operation of the new live system.
